We use enterprise-level servers to host our websites for transaction processing, accessing an Oracle Relational Database Management System.
Communication between our headquarters and data center is secured by multiple firewalls and routers. External data communications between the data center are protected by redundant enterprise class firewalls. Our local network communications is handled via a 10/100BaseT network-wiring infrastructure, featuring switches and a load-balancing device.
Individual client websites utilize Microsoft’s Internet Information Server (IIS) and are developed using Microsoft Active Server Pages and the .NET environment (ASP.NET 3.5). Client websites are tailored to meet the needs of each client’s unique corporate giving programs.
We also employ a high-availability hosted VMware solution for our data while incorporating industry leading application technology. VMware gives us the ability to immediately scale our resources to meet demand. Our network has a 99.99% up-time guarantee, and features dual power supplies connected to true A+B power sources for redundancy. Most importantly, our data center is protected by the most stringent physical and virtual security measures available, including 24x7 security staff, location monitoring by CCTV and front-door biometric access control.
In addition to nightly image level backups of our data, we perform active backups of our database and our client sites throughout the day. All of our hard disk systems are RAID I SCSI drives.
AmeriGives also uses document imaging to scan and store all transaction related paper forms and recipient organization verification forms. As part of our disaster prevention and recovery plan, it permits us to make any form available in an electronic image format upon demand.
